Puzzle #928: Pointers Sudoku

Posted April 24, 2020

Today's set of sudoku has been a long time coming. I planned to release it three weeks ago but got stuck in the writing process of the last four grids. In Pointers Sudoku, each grid contains, in addition to given digits, a number of arrow clues. Each arrow points toward the next digit in ascending order, within the same 3x3 box, with 9 wrapping and pointing to 1. I payed special attention to the design of these and wrote them with full 180-degree symmetry of the arrow clues and with a somewhat-pleasing pattern for the given digits as well. It was a long journey to finish this set, but I'm really happy with how they turned out, and I hope you enjoy solving them.

I had some challenges at first trying to figure out how to break into the puzzle, but eventually figured out some methods. I found puzzle F to be the most challenging - almost gave up but tried one more time before recycling the page and finally got it! Thanks for the puzzles!

I found these quite challenging, but very nice puzzles. I don't like straight sudoku, but I definitely enjoyed this variant.
