Despite getting hit with a bad cold, I've still got Area 51 variations to share with today's piece of the calendar.

I agree with dreamer234 - treating the puzzle as though that top-center square were empty, I got a unique solution which is inconsistent with a 3-pod there (and is consistent with a 5-pod)

In the first bonus puzzle, I could not solve as I had problems with the 3 pod in the top row. I tried solving using all the other clues and got a solution that made the top pod a 5.
